Alabama Hotel: A Hidden Gem for Seafood and Comfort Food Lovers

Very pleasurable experience. Loved the unique painting of local attractions on the wall. Excellent service and food!

Just started dinning out here, plan on going there most Friday evenings for dinner. A little more expensive than the place I used to go for a fish fry but the food is very good, better quality fish and a great salad bar included. The wait staff are exceptional.

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and there was no wait. Service was very quick and the food was delicious! Only the first spread of the menu is available for lunch, which might be good to note in the menu itself. Loved my swap style tenders, and my husband really enjoyed his haddock sandwich.

Our first time over to dine at the Alabama Hotel. We arrived at 2 PM and noticed for the time of day the parking lot had more then a few cars in the parking lot for time of day. This is a historical hotel which dates back to the 1800 and has been kept update and modernized. Handicapped acceptable which includes parking( a nice sized lot off street parking) as well as a handicap bar to get up a few stairs and wide enough for wheel chair. We were greeted by our server and she was the only server which kept up with at least ten tables as well as a continuous amount of people coming into the resturant. She greeted us with a smile and told us 2 pages of the menu were available as well as broiled fish and fish fry. Entree included a nice fresh salad bar also a side. Plenty of sides were included on the menu per choice. My partner and I both ordered the fish. He ordered broiled Cajun as for me the fried. My side was asperges which was scrumptious. A nice sized amount of asperges. They do not skimp. Salad bar was awesome! Fresh spring lettuce bread rolls macaroni salad Cole slaw beets a variety of dressings bacon bits etc. Soup is also available for a small charge. Menu offers prime rib chicken and dumplings a wide variety of fish and sea food and more for dinner. Alabama hotel also offers special brunch. Check out the fb page for more info. Good food, always seems busy. Their salad bar is small but has plenty of options including fresh bread and rolls and awesome macaroni salad and coleslaw.

On 23rd Dec 2022, we were driving down to NYC from Toronto when we were hit by the worst snow storm in the history. The only place I was able to find immediate shelter was the Alabama Hotel. The incredibly great person I met here was Joe Boradt who saved our lives and so many others by opening the doors and giving us food + warmth and shelter for nearly 48 hours! He was working non-stop 24*7 to take care of us and ensuring we were safe and well fed. Thank YOU Joe, idk what we would’ve done if it wasn’t for you. I don’t have words to describe how grateful I am. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the owner of the hotel who was more than willing to accommodate all of us in this extreme situation. Thank you guys! Your hospitality is very appreciated and I will be back soon once the storm is over to thank you in person! If you are around or see this hotel, you must make a stop here, experience the hospitality and meet them! They are amazing people!

Awesome staff, delicious food and affordable prices. Not to mention the great atmosphere with amazing painted murals on the dining area walls. I would highly recommend the Alabama Hotel for dine in's or take out's.

Miss Angie was our server and she was amazing. We understand that some unfortunate circumstances lead to the kitchen being manned with different staff and food production took a bit longer. Miss Angie seems passionate about her job and the hotel restaurant. Due to our experience with her alone we will give the Alabama Hotel another try.
